Some situations require immediate action. A person is in imminent suicide risk if she or he
- tells you they plan to end their life
- cannot guarantee their own safety
- is at risk and under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- tells you they have recently taken an overdose or made some other suicide gesture

Outside normal business hours, counseling staff can be reached by contacting Campus Security at Ext. 6300 or a Community Assistant.
Counseling & Wellness Services is able to provide brief crisis counseling as well as referrals to outside providers. Call (573) 288-6441. Outside normal business hours, faculty and staff should call 911.

Take the person directly to the emergency room at Hannibal Regional Hospital (6000 Hospital Drive) or Blessing Hospital (1005 Broadway Street).
